We have a male Lhasa-poo both beautiful and bright. He wants to be near us, but does not want to be picked up and won't come when called unless we have a treat him at which time he'll come, sit, stand up on his hind paws, or give a paw. He understands what we say, loves getting my car, or visiting friends, but he hates my wife's car. We love him like crazy, but he is such a snob! It's like living with a eccentric cousin instead of a loving pet. Is there anything I can do, or is that just his personality?

Sounds about right I have the same thing. But my Lhasa-poo, Joy, is a sweetheart and truly does spread her joy to everybody. I raised my boys to be independant and I would say its about the same.Enjoy the times she snuggles up or climbs on your lap.Liz

It sounds like we have the same dog. Either that, or I'm responding to my own letter. Let's check. My Lhasa-poo's is named George. What is your dog's name.

If i were you i would get a dog trainer. but if the trainer does something to your dog that you don't like consult with someone before firing her.
