Blackjack is 5 mos old and weighs 3.8 lbs. time to be neutered. The breeder did not have the tail shortened but our Vet says if we want, next week, when he is already asleep they can clip it and all will be ok. Have any of you shortened the tails on a chipoo. He looks like the little wavy black guy in the picture. What would you do?

I would leave his tail alone. There is no need to dock the tail. After all, the chihuahua has a long tail.....this is a mixed breed, not a purebred poodle. Needless cosmetic surgery! Of course your vet will do it, he gets more money for it.
