I have a sweet cavachon that has , at 1yr. old, started to itch and scratch a lot. I brush her every day and bath her once a week. I keep up with flea treatment once a month. Is there a shampoo that may help? Or a skin conditioner that is natural that may help? She is making scabs with her itching that the vet said to put peroxide on and I have done that which helps. But she still is itchy. I would like to get her some relief. thank you

You should ask your vet if you should change shampoo/conditioner or food because your dog might have an allergic reaction to it.

First, stop bathing your cavachon so much. Once a month is more than enough. You are taking all the oil off her skin. Second, what kind of flea treatment? She may be allergic, it's very common to be allergic to flea powder & drops on the back.

My cavachon used to do that a lot so I took her to a specialist that my vet recommended. She apparently had allergies to food. I would recommend taking your dog to a specialist for allergies.

We were told that it was a reaction to her food so we've tried hypo-allergenic brands. Things are improving but we're not quite there yet.
