I'm sure as with any dog, person, etc. each have their own personalities, but I can tell you that we have a sweet girl Cavachon and she rarely barks and if she does, she comically looks at us to be sure if it's "ok" for her to let us know something is happening outside. One thing though, our girl has strong hunting instincts and loves to try and chase or vocalize regarding things floating by in the wind such as leaves, paper bags, napkins, etc. but she's still young, so I'm not sure if she'll coutgrow this or not, but overall, very quiet, the neighbors love her and she loves everybody and every pet she has encountered including her two big brothers who are cats. Hope this helps. Good luck with your choice!

PS: The Cavachon described in my first post is a rescue also, the only thing we were unable to do was crate train her because she was rescued from a puppy mill, however, she didn't need it because she was already trained very well to go outside. This is a very intelligent breed, with patience, gentle treatment and respect, your Cavachon will repay you in lots of love and companionship.

My cavachon barks all... the... time. It's so bad that I feel like I can't work from home because he likes to invite himself to conference calls.

Cavachon's shouldn't bark. Look at question number 2, and 4 (above). I answered those. They should help you if you adopt one that barks.

I have a 1 1/2 yr. old cavachon and he rarely barks. We can be outside in the backyard and other dogs start barking and he just keeps playing. He is very energetic tho and pretty hyper. Hope that subsides when he is a little older.

We chose a cavachon because we were told they didn't bark, loved cats and didn't need much exercise. the reverse is true- ours barks a lot, chases the cat and needs lots of exercise! However we love her to bits and she is very gentle and loving.
