Well, 9 months is the transition into adolescence, and as cavachons may shed in small portions, but having a cavachon for 5 years, I know that these dogs grow hair quick, so don't fret if he or she loses hair, it grows back quickly. This could be due to the dog chewing hair. My boy cavachon was known to do that, but he stopped because he regurgitated his own hair, so it will stop.

Make sure your cavachon is not biting the area that's missing hair, if you're truly concerned, bring her for a check-up at the Vet to see if this is normal or being cause by something...is there any type of pesticide or weed killer anywhere? Rule out anything major...

I don't have an idea what it could be.Invest some time and money into finding a shampoo or conditioner to help with the hair loss. You could also ask your vetrinarian if there are places you can go to or products you can get to help with the hair loss. From, vet2b
