Do aussiedoodles have a reputation for barking? For example, when they think they hear something outside or someone comes to the door?

most dog breeds bark when someone comes to the door, while all dogs are individuals most are protective of their home front and will bark at what could possibly be an intrusion. But to more fully answer your question, australian shepherds are herding dogs which, among other things, means that love to bark and run. They are literally bred to run and bark all day at sheep, so they need a lot of exercise. On a high note though, poodles and australian shepherd are very intelligent.

I've found that it varies greatly from dog to dog, and parent's disposition comes into it largely. With my doodles, I had two litters at the same time this summer. One mom was more of a high energy, watchdog type and the other was super laid back, and you rarely hear her bark. Even though their puppies looked as if they could all be littermates, the quiet dog's puppies were much more quiet overall.
