It is most likely a terrier mix, in which case you may fare well with dad if you stay on top of grooming and bathing. You can get special shampoo that will control the dander. That is what he is allergic to, not dogs! Nobody is actually allergic to the dogs themselves. Make sure you feed as good a food as you can afford, without fillers. There are very few Podengo Medios in the country at all and they are not being mixed with other kinds of dogs. There have only been 10 times they have been bred at all! Good luck with your dog

If she has more Podengo in her genes then she'll probably be shedding quite a bit. My father used to raise them when I was a kid and I can remember always being covered in hair. Granted, they were used as hunting dogs so bathing was whenever they found a pond or stream to play in or if they were sick, so how many times needed to be kept as a house dog is unknown to me. No one in our family has allergies to animal dander so I'm also unsure if they are hypoallergenic as well. They do require quite a bit of exercise, they are bred for hunting after all. They can be trained very easily and are quite loyal dogs. They also fare better in pairs or groups. If I had more time and was more interestested in hunting like my father was, I would definitely get a few Podengo for myself. Best of luck with Suzie!
