Yes Malshis do. I have 2 black and white females. the most loving dogs I have ever had..they are sweet as sugar..one looks like a shih tzu and the other is Maltese. They have totally different personalities but get along so well together, and with the Pekingese I have too. Maggie has the long thick hair, and Chloe has thin semi-long hair, beautiful but they do shed...not all year around but when they do it's because they tend to go through an itchy state for some reason..I have had test done and every year is the same..but it doesn't really show on them, just the floor and it's not fleas... it looks like tumble weeds around here..BUT they are worth it a hundred times over. this is a great breed mix...if your thinking of getting one then you won't be disappointed...

Every dog sheds. Short haird dogs shed year around. Malshi dogs will shed 2 times a year. to grow a winter coat, and to grow a summer coat. that itchy sage is its shedding period.

I have a mal-shi and she does not shed at all. Everyone I have asked says this dog is little to no shedding. My family is allergic, so we could only bring home a no-shedding dog, and a mal-shi is perfect because both the Maltese and Shitzu are little to no shedding (which usually means none). So if your looking for a low-shedding, lovable and playful family dog, the Malshi is the way to go.
