Mal-Shi - Malshi Question

My Mal Shi is flea and mite free he is bathed weekly and groomed daily however he scrathes alot...


My Mal Shi is flea and mite free he is bathed weekly and groomed daily however he scrathes alot like he has pest. Someone mentioned a skin bacteia that causes him discomfort. Are there shampoos or medications to help him?

I believe you are bathing your mal shi too much, back off to every two weeks not weekly. Also switch to an oatmeal shampoo, it is better for their skin. I think by doing you should be all set. If the itching continues there might be an allergy. Try to avoid wheat in their food. Lamb and rice would be a good choice.

Malshis should be bathed every two to three weeks. Fleas can also be attracted to very clean bodies, so you should probably cut down on the bathing.

Hi there! Mal Shi's do not need to be shampooed that often. It dries out the natural oils in their skin and fur. That is probably why he is scratching so much. Tea Tree oil shampoo for dogs is very delicate and easy on their skin and coat.
