I have a wonderful 8 year old female labradoodle. Got her at 8 weeks old and she is the best dog I have ever owned. My question is this. If labradors don't drool and poodles don't drool, why do labradoodles drool?

OMG, labs are huge droolers, usually slingers as well...slinging the drool as they go. Our poodle...nope no drooling so I guess it comes from the Lab side....

Labrador retrievers are know as a breed with a "wet mouth" that is part of what makes them have a soft mouth to retrieve game without hurting it. Labradors do drool quite a bit and that is very likely why some labradoodles drool. Standard poodles were also originally bred to be water retrievers.
