I have a 10 week old labradoodle. He doesnt like being left at all - even if i pop upstairs or out of the room he barks, cries and does a noise like a seal. He can keep it up for up to 20 mins. Everytime I move, even if he is asleep, he has to get up and follow me. How do i get him used to being in a room on his own?

You should go to Olmpic Labradoodles if your in the Tacoma/Olmpia area. They do a great job about things like that.

A good dog is a tired dog.

Well remember, he is still a puppy and puppies need attention. I think that when he starts to get older he will stop following you everywhere but he is still a living animal that is solely dependent on you until he dies. Plus he probably just wants to be around you. Just think about it.

Have you tried to put a treat on the floor and leave the room?

Both of my labradoodles barked and cried when they were puppies but they just have to get used to their surroundings and the way things go around them. They grew out of that stage.

I have a shihpoo who is now 1 year old. He was about 9 months before I could actually leave a room and him not follow immediately. When I took a shower he curled up in the bathroom just to be near me. The older he has gotten the more independent he has become. Be patient.
