Hi, I have had my golden labradoodle for 3 weeks and I almost feel like giving up on her - don't get me wrong I do love her but having second thoughts as I have 2 young kids and cats and all I ever seem to be doing is shouting at her and it gets me down. Anybody have any ideas/tips how to make it all work?

Don't give up! My breeder recommended some great training books. Pick up "How to Raise the Perfect Dog" by Cesar Millan (dog whisperer) and "How to Be Your Dog's Best Friend" by the New Skete Monks. There are also training classes available at your local pet store (PetSmart where I live). Raising puppy (well) is nothing like raising a kid. Let the experts help you! Hope that helps!

Don't ever shout at your kids or your dog. Inform yourself about how to be a positive parent and owner! Dog Whisperer and Dog Listener are good starts. Shouting at your kids and your dogs does nothing but create a spiral of negativity. Knowledge is power.

The best advice to anyone with a new dog is to Enroll in a puppy class. Both you and your dog will benefit!!!
