It is probably because your mini austrailain shepherd thinks he is alpha, he is finding his place in the pack and needs to know you are the leader. Do not allow him to do this. He is not old enough to understand anything sexual so if you have to explain it to your grandson just tell him he thinks he is the one in charge, not you. Take him to obedience when he has all of his shots. Neutering might be something to consider in the future but does not always quit it. Just do not let your puppy get away with jumping, biting, walking ahead of you, etc. He'll learn. Females do the same thing.
