It varies with how large the puppy will be as an adult, how many were in the litter, and if the puppy has had proper care, including but not limited to; parasites, type of food, temperature and proper vet care. 4 pounds for a pup who is going to be a small adult sized westie, has had poor care, or from a very large litter and up to 8 pounds for one who is from a small litter, growing very fast, or is going to be large. The question is more is he in good condition? cant feel his hip bones, spine is smoth, ribs feel pretty smooth, tummy round but not bloated.
