My Welshie is definitely a barker, but her bark is not likely to wake the neighbors. She sounds like a dog with laryngitis. We happen to live in an area roamed by coyotes and skunks in the dead of night, so my solution is to close off the "Doggie-Door" at midnight, and shut her in my room. She is very much aware that I am the Alpha Human in the House, so when she starts huffing, and I sternly say, "STOP IT NOW!" (in my best Darth Vadar Voice) she generally obeys, (after "huffing" a few times!) She is nowhere near as "yappy" as the mini-doxie in my House.

Not really....although we just lost our Welshie he was NEVER a barker. When he did there was a reason....otherwise it was just a rapidly wagging tail. (We are looking to purchase another....wonderful breed!)
