I've read several times on various Welshie breed websites that the Welshie temperament may tend toward timidness. How prevalent is this in the breed? How would you rate their trainability and ease of learning?

The Welsh Springer Spaniel is known as a more timid breed when it comes to stranger's. It is important to socialize your Welsh Springer Spaniel as much as possible. The breed is quite intelligent and is a 7-8/10 on the train-ability scale for dog trainers. Contact your local Positive Reinforcement trainer. He/She will be able to help you with training your new pup/dog.
