I have a 12 week old Weimaraner male. He has a hard time finishing a 2 mile long walk. This seems strange to me because I heard it is hard to wear out a weim. Is this normal for a weim of his age?

my god it's only 12 weeks old not 12month old!!!! my weim is now 6 month and is still only walked approx 1hr max , weimaraners will walk any person out but not at 12weeks old, you're going to end up damaging it's bones etc, didn't you read anything about the breed? yes they can out walk most people and go for hours but not at 12 weeks old!

No, you should not walk a puppy for such a long walk. His bones and joints are too soft....please wait until your Weimaraner is older.

YES! You are EXHAUSTING your Weimaraner and pushing his skeletal system too HARD! 12 weeks is much too young to be walking 2 miles! You should not consider walking a pup that distance until it is pushing a YEAR! He is a BABY! If you continue to push him like this at this tender age you will work on destroying his hips!

A two mile walk takes app. thirty minutes on average from start to finish. A twelve week old should be able to walk for thirty minutes; maybe at a slower pace. Please keep in mind that your legs are longer than his. So, pace yourself to him and enjoy your walks...
