When I researched the dog. I got that the Silky Terrier is supposed to be blue, tan, and/ or red. Two or all of these colors together. Or it is rare that Silky's can be be gray and tan. Or it may look gray and tan. Or it could be two of the three colors put together!! I am in school and I have to do research on the Silky Terrier. So it is fun to research this dog.

Silky bodies can be any shade of grey from dark slate blue to light silvers. With tan legs and head and either a silver or fawn headfall. Some will stay black and tan and some will go moe beige caused by sun burn and homone changes , As a young dog they must never be brown and tan or white

Unlike the Yorkie, which is supposed to come in one color combination, the standard for the silky terrier recognizes several color combinations. The Gray and tan you describe is actually recognized as blue and tan by the registries.
