Siberian Husky Question

Is there a taller than avg. Siberian Husky? Around 36 inches high.

I saw a dog the other day that looked like a Siberian Husky. But he was almost waist high at the shoulder to his owner. I always thought the Siberian Husky was a shorter dog.

No, there are not any bloodlines of purebred Siberian huskies that are nearly that tall. The standard allows for 23" for males and even a male that is somewhat taller than standard may be 25 or 26 inchces. Few breeds of dog are as tall as 36", only some of the giant breeds like Irish Wolfhounds or Great Danes may achieve that size.

Husky are medium to large size dogs with a male being the tallest at 23.5 inches from the ground to his shoulders while standing on all four legs. Weight max for a male is 60 lbs with the average being between 40-60 lbs. The dog you see has to be a cross between a Sibe and an extremely large breed of dog.
