The husky may be happy but the cats may not be. I am a canine behaviorist with 30 years experience, and I had Siberians for about 25 years. Even when raised with cats, many will still hunt and kill them. It is worse if the cat gets outside, or there is more one dog, or the dog doesn't know the cat, or the cat runs. This breed has such a high prey drive and it's easily triggered, so any small pet including cats can be a target of that. I personally won't risk it.

VIEW MY PUPPIES

My White Husky was 3 yrs old and had come from a reservation when I adopted her. She had survived by eating rabbits and feeding her 2 babies. She entered my home and passed my 5 kitties on her way to check out her new future digs and decided that she was adopting me! and my 5 kitties! and my Lab female. Roxie is currently 12 I/2 yrs old and still plays with the cats. So to answer your question, I believe it has to do with their temperment. If they are laid back louie's like my Roxie, they take everything in their stride. If they are high strung, then many things could be a challenge and we have all heard the stories about Huskies not being trusted around cats or small animals. Well, with Roxie having survived by hunting rabbits, she never entertained hunting the cats. So take your time in selecting your husky. I promote adoptions as all my pets have been adopted with the exception of one that I got from a breeder.
