That all depends on the family. Experts will not recommend the husky breed for families with very young children, but they should be good with older children. Also, they need a family that will give the dog a lot of time, exercise and training. This is not the easiest breed to live with since they have high energy, high prey drive and can be somewhat independent. They need a securely fenced yard, early reward based training and a lot of supervision. They can be VERY destructive if their needs are not met. As a breed that was bred to run dozens of miles a day, they are not going to be content with a walk around the block. You must be committed to meeting your Siberian's need for exercise, training and supervision.
If you can find a really good breed, you can meet their dogs and see how they live and what they are like, before deciding to buy one.
