Do not use a cheap dog shampoo. I wipe down my Shih Tzu once a day with unscented baby wipes and then spray him with lightly scented puppy spray (sparingly) once a day. I also shower my Shih Tzu once a week with Virbac Epi-Soothe shampoo and he does not ever smell.
