My 5 year old saint has a crusty nose, always has. Now she has a split on the piece between the nostrils. The vet doesn't seem concerned at all, but i'm worried that it will get worse especially with winter coming. I have tried to use a warm face cloth and vaseline, but she licks the vaseline off...Any suggestions??? Thanks for any help

Hi there, I have a 10 year old Saint with a dry nose with cracks in it, and he has had that all his life since he was an adult so nothing to worry about really hasn't affected his health in any way.

Yep, common with some of mine too. Try triple antibiotic.

Ask your vet to check with a dermatologist. Our 7 year old Saint had the same problem, we thought it was fine until it broke open and bleed all over. Our vet checked with a dermatologist who said it's a common dermatology problem only related to Saints. Our baby has been on a lot of medication and it's healing beautifully. Our vet was mos concerned about where it had split open (just like yours). Apparently the area where it's split open can cause A LOT of major issues!! Please get your pup checked again, it's worth it!!

Try using Carmex as much as possible. That improved both our St's noses but they will lick it off just keep putting it on.

Use Carmex as often as possible. They will lick it off but just keep applying. It's something that has to be done forever but it does improve the problem
