I would recommend a puppy. This is the less threatening to their dominance. I have had great success in introducing in puppies with my adult dogs. You have more of a chance of problems with an older dog. If you have a neutered male you can go with another male or a female. As long as you neuter the other male as well you should have no problems. I have had 6 dogs in the past all at the same time and within a year of eachother in age. I had 4 males, all neutered, and 2 females, spayed. I had more problems with the females then all 4 of the males. They ranged in size from a Shih Tzu to a German Shepherd. Good luck. Two dogs are alot of fun. They're like chips though. Once you have one you have to have more. ;)
