Hi I live in the uk and recently rehomed a 3 year old Newfoundland from a breeder. He is a great dog but we have found that when we are out on walks and we meet other dog one on one he goes into a red zone high energy or aggression. When we take him either to obedience classes or water training where there are packs of dog he doesnt bother at all any suggestion what to do

Try to get your dog to heal behind you before they see the other dog. Don't react to the other dog, just keep walking. Newfs do have a a protective quality so again it may be tough. Use a harness on the walk. it is easier to control the dog
