There are many things when leaving a mastiff alone for long periods of time, even as rather calm and patient dogs they do like to be social sometimes out of the day. personally i have a 4 yr old mastiff that loves to just lay on her bed for days end but on the other hand find her get borde and start to chew on stuff, when im at work (normally at night) i will leave the tv or radio on for her to keep it sounding like a normal day at home. providing a nice solid toy always helps too, i hope this helps but for the most part its okay as long as its not for days at a time. having a room or cage big enough for her/him to come in and out of is also something to consider. -Mastiff Owner
