Are Irish Terriers good with other pets?

Cats - NO! Hamsters, rabbits etc. are considered as prey. Other dogs - very rarely, same sex aggression is very common. A male and a female irish terrier can get on very well together and be best friends and two females might get on - but two males? HARDLY!

Unless it grows up with the other dog. My lady irish terrier really dislikes cats.

Not true! I can attest that Irish Terriers are very sweet, female Irish is best friends with our declawed cat! They spend hours everyday grooming each other and playing. Our girl is also friends with Every dog in the neighborhood. She's the most amazing with kids. all around awesome pet!

My male Irish Terrier's best friend is a male cat and the cat has claws. They are so amazing to watch. They play hard, the play soft, they sleep together...its a beautiful friendship. I don't think my Irish would be able to live without that cat!

My Irish terrier is friends with my 6 year old british bulldog and my 2 year old cat.The terrier is only a puppy and I was more worried about him getting on with the cat, but they share a bed and are often found sharing each others dinner.
