I have a female Havanese and would like her to have puppies. Living in Dubai, its very difficult to find a male for her. However, I've been told by a few people now that she can mate with a Maltese as that's in the bloodline. Is this true and can the puppies be called Havanese?

No, they will not be able to be called a Havanese. Maltese are related but each is its own breed. In order for the puppies to be called a Havanese they must have parents that are both Havanese. This makes them a pure bred dog. Please make sure that both dogs are from excellent lines if you plan to breed. You must do research and make sure that both dogs are very healthy and will not pass health problems to their offspring.
