All dogs bark the way their throats are designed for their sound. If you are asking about barking at strangers, animals, or other things it depends on the individual dog's instincts and upbringing. Some Danes do have some watchdog instinct and bark at strangers. Most Danes are people friendly since they were not designed to be guard dogs at all, but hunting dogs of large game.
