All dane pups and adults should be given a food of no more than 21-23% protein. My recommendation is Purina Dog Chow, as it keeps the weight at the proper levels as well as keeping the protein down. Too much protein will cause a young puppy or young adult (under the age of 2 1/2 yrs) to potentially get Panno, and extreme protein levels can cause HOD.

Stay away from cheap dog food like puppy chow!!! They need a good food like Iams giant breed or Form. Make sure it says Giant breed puppy food and they should be fed 3 times a day and rest for 45-1 hour after eating to avoid bloat witch will kill them in an hour without medical attention. so many of the dog foods out on the market are full of junk that is not good for them. The better you feed your pet the longer they live :)
