Great Dane Question

should my great dane have surgery for a inverted third eyelid?

my vet at first thought it was cherry eye but while my 6 month old great dane was being neutered the vet checked the eye and decided it was an inverted third lid and didn't feel he needed surgery

If the dog is experiencing no sight problems, I would suggest leave it alone. They usually are not an issue and seen frequently in the European lines. If your Great Dane experiences frequent eye infections, then repair the problem. Remember with any surgery you run the risks of anesthesia complications.
