My Toy Fox Terrier is 9 years old and has started to growl if you try and pick her up in the dark. Does anyone know if they have eye sight problems or if they get meaner with age?

First, be sure your Toy Fox Terrier knows you are approaching. She may have trouble seeing in the dark. You may want to get her checked for health problems. She could be developing arthritis, fibromyalgia, etc. which make being lifted painful.

My Toy Fox Terrier started going blind at the age of 4. I took him to a specialist and he said it is probably hereditary. I had to have his left eye removed at the age of six, and he went blind in his right eye not too long after. I just lost him at the age of 14, two weeks ago, five days before he turned 15, he had a brain tumor.
