We live in the city with a lemon english pointer and I walk him and we take him to the park to run...which he loves. It has been hot and the park has sand not grass..and as fast and quick turns he makes he rips his pads...is this normal and do they grow back? His pad was hanging so we cut it off so it would not catch on anything and rip...is this okay?

His pad's will grow back but not if they don't have the chance. There are booties you can buy for him to wear while his pads are healing and for when he goes to play in the sand. Putting an good anti-bio-tic cream on his pads will help them heal faster as well.
