Can you train a Dogue De Bordeaux to get along with same sex dogs? I really want one, but my parents prefer male dogs. We already have another male dog. What could we do?

Don't ever be afraid to puchase two dogs of the same sex, especially Dogue De Bordeaux. They are very compatible dogs and love dogs of any sex.

I would be very careful about two males together I would make sure that one of them is fixed or they might end up in a fight, I have seen many fights with males together and in Europe yrs ago they warned NOT TO KEEP two males together, because if there is a fight you might get hurt trying to break them up !!

The Bordeaux tends to be dominant. As long as the other dog of the same sex is willing to be a beta dog, there shouldn't be any problems. The dogue gets along very well with dogs or other animals it is raised with, with few exceptions .

I have a 2 yr old male bordeaux, a 6 year old female boxer, a 8 yr old female bulldog x, and invite everyone`s dog over from miniature pekenese to boxer etc, male and female, and have had no problems. It is all in how you raise your dogs. There are no bad dogs, just bad owners. Understanding the nature of the dog species, how they tick so to speak, and training them accordingly you can have any animal together.
