How protective is this breed? I have owned Rottweilers that were very protective and would thrash you if you entered our property, and owned Olde Bulldogges that were Barkers, but wouldn't stop someone from entering the yard. How would a Dogue deal with this situation? Or would it depend on how much socializing you have done? Or would it matter? Thanks in advance.

The Bordeaux is intelligent. It is protective but not overly the way a Rottweiller tends to be. it is leary of strangers but does love people and human interaction. of course it will be what you train it to be. protective training is highly discouraged. Their natural instincts are more than enough for most households and situations.
