I have a 10 year old female Dachshund who cannot walk anymore. She still eats and poops and pees. I was laid off a year ago and cannot afford to pay much, do you thing anything can be done to help her or will the vet say to put her down, which I'm not wanting to do, she is the sweetest little girl.

Have you been to the vet? I did some research on the internet and did hydrotherapy with mine in the bathtub myself and she was able to walk again. He gave her a couple of shots but I did the rest.

I had a 7 year old female doxie that jumped off a chair and instantly couldn't walk. The doc gave her a steroid and pain pill. I started her on glucosimine/chrondroitin supplements from a online petsupply. I had to carry her out to pee/poop for about 3 weeks, then she started standing then walking over another week. She lived 4 more years no more further trouble with her back. After her prescription meds were gone, I did continue her supplements for the rest of her life, but at 1/2 the amount used to get her better. Good Luck!
