Are you sure your dachshund is 4 weeks old and not 8 weeks old ? The puppy should still be nursing from its mother to gain good immunity, and also get pack structure. If you cannot take it back to where it came from, please keep it around another loving dog, the puppy should be eating several times a day ( about 6 small meals). Use plain uncooked Goats Milk, and soaked dry Puppy food or canned food. Small meals given often will help insure the puppy does not get low blood sugar. If you don't have the time, or work, you will need to arrange a neighbor or babysitter to take care of the puppy when your gone. Be super careful about germs, puppies should not have there first vaccine until 6 weeks old, and are not fully protected until 16 weeks and there 4th vaccine is done. As for potty training, throw that out the window until your baby is also in the teen weeks. For now the puppy must be keep warm, on pee pads with access water and warm blankets all day.
