I have an 8 week old sprocker who is showing really aggresive behavior snapping and biting people when he is too excited - how do i stop him from doing this? I have read loads of books and no methods have worked so far.

i have a dog that does the same thing. it always works when i tell her a firm "NO" and then walk away and ignore her. she knows that if she bites, she won't get the attention she wants. don't let anyone give him attention if he is biting. dogs understand this. aggression can be controlled if it is given proper leadership too.

I don't know where you are located but contact your local vet or check with the pet store & take the puppy to puppy obedience classes. They will be able to help guide to for good results to this problem. Also, the socialization & 'bonding' the classes will provide you will help too, besides the at home practice. Pets are so much like kids, they only know what they are taught so best to start with trainers who are familiar with pet behavior :) You'll be okay.
