I hope the trainer has given you help by now! Pei's are dogs that like to be in control, it is up to you to become the alfa person and make him listen! Go back to the basics as if he was a puppy, he need to learn the work "NO" and make the connection as to what it means. When you say "NO" he should stop what he is doing and look at you for advice. Say it firmly and loud. If your voice is not enough use a color and leash to enforce your words. The more he gets away with is the more he wins and feels in control.
For housetraining you either need to have him with you at ALL times in the house...I mean on a leash next to you, or in a crate or outside. He needs to not be allowed to make a mistake inside. If he is attached to you inside, you can see what he is doing and correct him if he even thinks of going potty in the house. Pei's are VERY smart, so smart they easily control their owners.
