someone told me that hairless cresties need to be oiled down from time to time. Is this true?

Just like humans, the hairless Chinese Crested can get dry skin. Just as you'd apply an oil-free lotion to your own dry skin, you would want to apply an oil-free lotion to a Crestie with dry skin. Most Cresties from reputable breeders don't have chronic dry skin, so it's not a big worry, but it is a possibility you should be prepared for. Weather, irritants in the environment, and even the clothes your Crestie wears can all cause dry skin, too.
