Chihuahua Question

Can a Chi be okay if given to another family at an older age

We adopted a chi at an unknown age but she had been used to breed. She was under 3 pounds when we took her and starved for attention. She has done very well because we also had another dog that she bonded with immediately .

It may not do well if it has lived an isolated life with just one owner that did not socialize it. Chihuahua will form strong bonds with owners to the exclusion of all others. They can become very protective and display aggression towards strangers. Others with lay back personalities that have many people friends they have socialized with over the years have no problem making a home switch. They have big hearts, love attention and affection.
