I have a rabbit, if I were to get a Chesapeake Bay Retriever dog, what do you think will most likely happen if the two were together?

Our Chessie would lick the bunny, but never hurt it. She was a family pet though, not a trained hunting dog.

They are called Retrievers for a reason! They will never eat any animal they may just pick it up and bring it to you. My dog was a pure bred chesapeake and he would never retrieve anything but live animals. He got birds, skunks, rabbits, anything he could catch never once hurt anything. They were just a little wet with slobber and he pranced around the house. It is in their blood not to hurt an animal they have a "soft" mouth meaning they wont bite down on what they catch.
