I don't have facts I can site but I would say no, cavaliers are not good for kids with asthma. They shed A TON and the dander cannot be good for asthma. Ask your pediatrician and I bet they will tell you the same thing.

We have two cavaliers and 3 11 week old puppies and they DO NOT shed a TON. I totally disagree with the individual who responded to you earlier.

Cavaliers are great with kids. But if your daughter is allergic don't get one.

3 to 11 week old puppies don't shed as much and the protein in their saliva are not even mature enough to even pose a reaction to those with any sort of allergies. You should baby sit a cavalier if you can and see how you would react to one or get allergy tested you don't want to commit yourself to a puppy because once you purchase a puppy most breeder will gladly take it back if you pay for the shipping and then your are out of pocket. There is no such thing as a hypoallergenic pet for it is not the shedding of hair it is the hair (dander flakes) that trigger the allergies. And we all do shed those pet and human alike. So don't let any breeder fool you into telling you they sell hypoallergenic dogs because there is no such thing. You can just come across a dog that you are more tolerable too. You just have to find the right one for you. Good luck and I hope you find the best friend you are looking for.
