I have a 9 month old female Catahoula. She looks exactly like a pure breed Catahoula, but she only weighs 25lbs (at 8 months.) The vet believes she probably will not get any bigger than she is now. Can a pure bred female Catahoula - runt of the litter, weigh about only about 30 lbs or so?

There are some lines of catahoulas that only reach 25-30 pounds full grown. They are less common, but it is possible. I would wonder how big the parents are...

We have a Catahoula/Lab/Boston Terrier mix. At 9 months, he is only 35 lbs. and the vet doesn't think he is growing any more. He looks like a pure breed but much smaller. We did DNA test to see what he was. Very smart, loving dog. Loves dog park, but thinks he is an 80 lb. dog. He always wants to play with the big dogs. He holds his own pretty well but sometimes gets frustrated that the dogs that are more than twice his weigh can pin him down so easily.

Not sure if I can answer this. But I have what I believe to be a pure bred catahoula that weighs 17lbs @ 5 1/2 months. He projects to be about 25 to 30lbs... So maybe it is a possibility. I d like to know if anyone else has a catahoula of similar size.
