Cane Corso Mastiff Question

Crate training and as much of a set schedule as you possibly can! Positive reinforcement!!!

even young cane corsos will graft onto you and your schedule, so you might want to wake a bit early and take her out while she's still a bit sleepy. Our pit bull mutt never really needed house-training, but our corso did. Once he figured it out though, we never had an accident with him. The pit bull...not so much. Corso's are sweet, happy, and very protective dogs, so you've got a big slice of life waiting for you. Good luck.

My corso was soooo difficult to potty train. She was having accidents up until 7 & 8 mos. old. I've heard you can place a small bell by the door and they learn to ring it when they need to go out. I never did this, but I should have.

We trained ours to ring a bell and it works great! He was also very hard to housetrain! Our 6 lb shih tzu was much easier to housetrain, if you can believe that! Hang a strong string on the doorknob with a big bell at the end low enough for her to easily hit it with her paw. Everytime you take her out, take her paw and hit the bells. Get all excited like she did a great thing, than let her outside. My shih tzu still gets so excited when she rings the bell, thinking she did the greatest thing! Hope this helps and good luck.
