i have a cairn terrier who loves the beach but tends to drink the salt water after running...


i have a cairn terrier who loves the beach but tends to drink the salt water after running around abit. any good ideas to stop him drinking it? i put him back on the lead when he starts drinking the salt water which is a shame as he just loves the freedom at the beach.

Your cairn terrier is probably thirsty from running around so much. You don't want him drinking salt water, bring a bottle of water for your dog to drink from. If you don't want to use a water bottle they make special containers that have a clip on bowl. You can find these at local pet stores.

Don't worry about him drinking the salt water just make sure he has some fresh water to rehydrate himself.
