Some dogs, and many terrier breed have this more frequently, get very anxious when the owner leaves. The best solution is to crate the dog while you are gone. The crate is the domestic equivalent of a den, which leaves them feeling more secure, and as a bonus, prevents them from becoming so insecure while you are away. To crate train, start by placing treats and having the canine go in after them. Some dogs like a clock wrapped in an old towel to sooth them.
