Absolutely not!
Brittany's are loving people animals and will be very unhappy in a cage. In your home and interacting with you, your children and other pets is where they thrive. They are in fact true hunters but a lonely existence is their worst enemy. An active family, loving home with a good size yard and a lake or stream for a swim is where a Brit belongs. They are not a dog that belongs in a prison but they will do flips to win your approval. I have had many dogs but none quite as easy to live with as a Brittany. Mine would protect me to her death but would prefer to not hurt a flea. Mice, chipmunks, squirrels and birds are not safe unless they are raised together. I have black bears behind my home every day but they know better than to come in my yard because my 36 pound female Brittany will have them up a tree in a minute. Absolutely fearless in every sense of the term! The best all around dog and companion I have ever had and she will hunt for dinner.
