I bought a border collie to go running with hes 6 weeks old. How soon can he go out running for a couple of miles? Or are they active at any age?

Absolutely not! You will destroy the puppy's skeleton if you run him or her too young. Light running on grass is okay at 3-4 months, but actually jogging on the road for 2+ miles needs to wait until he or she is at least 11 months old.

Border Collies are very fast and active dogs.Take a walk not a run. When he or she is 5 months old start running.

I would never take a puppy out running at that age! Their bones aren't fully developed at that time. It would be like running with your toddler! The best time would be at least 1 to 1-1/2 years. Just use common sense, if you wouldn't run with a baby, you shouldn't run with a puppy!
