My Border Collie, jackson, is 6 years old... is he still "young" and does he still have a real long way to go or is his time very soon? :( hes nice and healthy, he's a good weight, loves to run, we dont have money to get his shots but we do bathe him with "skip flea shampoo" and i comb him. He's a very healthy dog so any answers to that would be great. thanks.

Most dogs have a average lifespan of 14 years. You are taking a big risk by not getting your dog vaccinated. If you can't afford the vaccinations, then you should rehome the dog to someone who can take care of him properly.

My last border collie lived to be 15. if they're healthy they have very long life expectancy. I wouldn't skimp on vaccinations. Sometimes vets will have discounted or free vaccinations days. Call around.

Vet care is so important - try to find away to afford it. Have a yard sale anything you can think of - they are apart of your family and need to be properly cared for.
